ASAP Presents:

The UC Davis Cancer Survivors Group

Each year, the Academic and Staff Assistance Program (ASAP) provides cost free support groups to the UC Davis community. These groups are open to all UC Davis employees, including faculty and staff. Typically, support groups are eight weeks; however, a unique opportunity is available to join an ongoing Cancer Survivors group. The group will be held on campus, on the third Thursday of every month.   Each meeting will be held from noon to 1:00 pm in Mrak room 61 (the basement – to your right from the elevator).

The UC Davis Cancer Survivors Group was established in 2004 for survivors and friends/relations of survivors of any cancer to find support among peers by sharing experiences in a safe and caring environment. Some of the topics discussed include:

·     diagnoses

·     navigating the health system

·     treatment side effects

·     handling family situations

·     cancer and the UC work environment

·     resources in the community

·     fear regarding recurrences

To schedule a screening for the Cancer Survivors Group either in person on by phone, or to learn more about the group, please contact Rory Osborne or Ruben Valencia at

(530) 752-2727. You can also e-mail Rory or Ruben at rosborne@ucdavis.edu or rjvalencia@ucdavis.edu respectively.
