Monday, October 15, Wright Hall Main Theater, Noon - 1pm
Dandelion Dancetheater, a new program at CSU East Bay, is a theater group where persons with disabilities tell their stories through movement, dance, and monologue. Their performances go straight to the heart. Accessible Technology Faire
Tuesday, October 16, MU II and Garrison Room, 11:30 - 1:30pm
With technology playing a growing role in society today, and especially in higher education, learn about tools that can translate information between the senses (such as text to speech or touch and speech to text). This is also a chance to learn about alternative input and output devices. But most of all this is a chance to meet people with solutions. Reasonable Accommodation in the Workplace

Fredna Karneges M.S., C.R.C. UC Davis Disability Management Services will provide an overview of the legal requirements to provide reasonable accommodation and the process to request an accommodation at UC Davis. We will discuss how ingenuity, creativity, technology and flexibility are the essential keys to developing effective accommodations. Guest Speaker Catherine Campisi
Thursday, October 18, MU Mee Room, Noon - 1pm
Catherine Campisi, PhD. Former director of the California Department of Rehabilitation for seven years under Democratic and Republican governors. Dr. Campisi will give her unique perspective on the state of disability consumerism, the need for continued disability advocacy, and, the challenges to employment of persons with disabilities today within California. Sponsored by the UC Davis community interest group, Forum on Disability Issues. Disability Faire
Friday, October 19, Silo Courtyard, 11:30 - 1pm
There will be demonstrations on service dogs to show how they can be trained to assist persons who have disabilities. Various groups will have informational or educational tables on their activities related to disabilities as well. There will be a raffle of prizes donated by various groups and businesses in the area.
DIAAC Charge
The Disability Issues Administrative Advisory Committee has the following charge:
Advises Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor (through the Senior Associate Vice Chancellor—Human Resources) on policies and procedures affecting persons with disabilities relative to employment, educational opportunities, and removal of architectural barriers. Membership includes: 3 Faculty/Academic Federation, 4 Staff, 5 Students (at least 1 graduate student). The committee membership should include individuals with different types of disabilities. Committee meets monthly.
