Staff of American Indian Descent
The Staff of American Indian Descent (SAID) is a constituent group of UC Davis. Any staff employee of UC Davis is eligible for membership; no verification of heritage is required. We only ask that you be committed to diversity and support fellow employees at UC Davis. The purpose of SAID is to develop and maintain a support group for UC Davis staff, faculty, and students which enhances and increases the presence and visibility of American Indians or Alaskan Natives within our community. We promote employment, training, and advancement of American Indian staff into positions of increased responsibility (i.e., supervisory, management, and executive positions) and support the goals and mission of the UC system in general and specifically at UC Davis.
We have sponsored speakers and actively support Native American Culture Days, usually held the first full weekend of April.
