Background Check Program
The background check policy applies to employees in positions that are designed as critical. These can include career, limited appointment, contract, and casual-restricted (student assistant) employees. The program applies to all represented and non-represented staff in the Senior Managers, Managers and Senior Professionals (MSP) and Professional and Support Staff (PSS) programs.
The critical employee designation guidelines, were last updated by the Office of the President, effective September 1, 2006. The Campus Police Department administers a separate background check process for Police Officers and Public Safety Dispatchers.
New background check rates are effective October 1, 2007.
The cost for PSS/MSP staff background checks is $129.
The cost for student background checks is $110.
