Internal/External
Definition:
- Internal: These positions are transfer/promotional opportunities for UCD/UCDHS employees only.
- Internal/External: These positions are transfer/promotional opportunities for UCD/UCDHS employees. Applications from current UCD/UCDHS employees will be considered first. Applications from public will generally be considered if a current employee is not selected.
- External: These positions are for UCD/UCDHS employees and the general public. Applications from the general public and UCD/UCDHS employees will be considered simultaneously. Note: Positions will be posted "External" unless the department requests the predesignation.
Department Responsibilities:
- Check title code against Internal, Internal/External, or External published list to determine appropriate designation.
- Submit your vacancy request using the Job Machine.
Employment and Outreach Consultant/Recruiter Responsibilities:
- Designation is automatically assigned based on title code.
- Check with department on choice for designation.
- Designated canned statement appears in the vacancy above the introduction.
- Reviews layoff and/or voc rehab applications for preference eligibility. Preference will first be given to qualified applicants on UCD/UCDHS layoff list first (see referral procedure for layoff) prior to screening of applicant pool. If no layoff and/or voc rehab referrals or layoff and/or voc rehab clears, Employment and Outreach Consultant/Recruiter screens and refers remainder applications according to Internal, Internal/External, or External designation.
- For Internal/External, Employment and Outreach Consultant/Recruiter screens applications from employees first (currently on payroll status). External applications can be released if the department determines the Internal pool does not meet the minimum qualifications. Both Internal and External applications can be considered at the same time.
Department Responsibilities:
- Proceed with interview and selection process. If selection is made, return closeout packet to Employment and Outreach Services/HR following departmental and/or college protocols.
- Department returns all original application materials to Employment and Outreach Services/HR with appropriate disqualifications.
Employment and Outreach Consultant/Recruiter:
- Process closeout; notifies department to enter hire into PPS.
