Application Screening and Referral - MSP Recruitments


All applications for employment for MSP Recruitments go directly to the hiring department's Recruitment Contact that was identified by the department at the onset of the recruitment process. HR does not screen applications for MSP positions. All screening is done at the department level.

The department contact should consider the following when screening applications:

  • Review the requirements of the position (skills, knowledge, abilities, experience, competencies and special requirements) that are outlined in the Vacancy Listing, Position Description and the Selection Criteria identified in the Recruitment Plan.)
  • Review affirmative action goals and the applicant pool for diversity (NOTE: this information may NOT be shared with anyone that is on the selection committee.)
  • Review applications for completeness. The application must be complete, which includes answers to questions #6, #7 & #8 on the application form.
  • The applications of those who meet the minimum/basic requirements of the position will be forwarded to the selection committee to determine who shall be scheduled for an interview.
