Help Downloading PDFs
Help on how to download PDF forms and publications.
Some older internet browsers and versions are not able to open PDF documents
on the HR web site within the browser window.
Note: You can find the latest version of Netscape here. The Open Source version, Mozilla, can also be found here.
If you experience this problem, you have two options:
- Download the file to your machine and then open it up in Acrobat Reader.
- Upgrade your web browser
You must have Acrobat Reader installed on your machine to view PDF files.
Directions for Internet Explorer Users Note: You can find the latest version of Internet Explorer here
- Right click on the link to the PDF file.
- Choose 'Save Target As...' from the menu. This will bring up the save dialogue box.
- Select the location to where you would like to download the file to. Be sure to give the file a meaningful name so that you can find the file easily.
- Be sure to save the file with the extension .pdf. For example, type absenceslip.pdf
- Hit save
- Open up the file on your computer. Acrobat Reader will automatically open the file.

- Right click on the link to the PDF file.
- Choose 'Save Link As...' from the menu. This will bring up the save dialogue box.
- Select the locations to where you would like to download the file to. Be sure to give the file a meaningful name so that you can find the file easily.
- Important: you must change the file path to .pdf. For example, Netscape will by default name the file absenceslip.html. You must type absenceslip.pdf.
- Hit save.
- Open the file on your computer. Acrobat Reader will automically open the file.
