Some residents of the Parks at UC Davis as well as Russell Park are licensed by Yolo County as family child care home providers. Additionally, Orchard and Solano providers are approved by UC Davis Student Housing, and Russell Park providers are approved by its business manager. Residents of these three apartment settings may also organize and operate cooperative playgroups for their toddlers and preschool children.

The Children's Center provides child development services for children ages 3 to 6 years of low-income and at-risk families. Fees are on a sliding scale.
