Open Enrollment

Open Enrollment is the annual time to review your insurance plan coverage and make any necessary changes.  It began at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 29 and ends at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2009. 

Depending on your benefits eligibility, during Open Enrollment you may:

• Enroll in or opt-out of UC-sponsored medical, dental or vision plans

• Transfer to a different medical or dental plan

•  Enroll in the Legal Plan (this plan is not open every year)

• Add eligible family members to your medical, dental, vision or legal plans

• Opt in or out of Tax Savings on Insurance Premiums (TIP) – enrollment is automatic unless you previously opted-out

• Enroll or re-enroll in the Health FSA and DepCare FSA plans

Open Enrollment changes are done online through the At Your Service website and changes are effective January 1, 2010. 

If you are satisfied with your current enrollments and do not wish to make any changes, there is nothing you need to do – your current plans will continue.  The two exceptions are the Flexible Spending Accounts.  To participate in either the Health FSA or the DepCare FSA for 2010, you must enroll during Open Enrollment – participation in these plans does not automatically carry over from year-to-year.
