Furlough Program

On July 16, 2009, the UC Regents declared an extreme financial emergency for UC, and approved a one-year systemwide furlough plan as part of an overall strategy, built on a central principle of shared sacrifice, to address the fiscal challenges faced by the University of California. The furlough program is expected to solve roughly 25 percent of our budget problem.

The UC furlough program is effective September 1, 2009 - August 31, 2010.

This site has been created to provide staff with up-to-date information regarding furlough/salary reduction measures and to offer available resources to help managers and supervisors guide their departments through the program.

Academic Personnel, please visit the Academic Personnel Furlough Information site.
