Family and Medical Leave Revisions
The Office of the President proposes to modify Personnel Policies for Staff Members to extend Family and Medical Leave coverage to employees who have a domestic partner. The provisions would be similar to the existing provisions governing the serious illness of a spouse.
In addition, two clarifications that apply to all employees would be added:
This proposal affects only those employees who are covered by the provisions of Personnel Policies for Staff Members.
All employees are invited to review these documents and send comments. Comments must be received by Friday, November 22, 2002.

In addition, two clarifications that apply to all employees would be added:
- An employee who uses only part of the 12 workweeks does not need to requalify if more leave is needed for the same reason during the same calendar year. (PPSM 43.C.4)
- The Regents contribution for health, dental, and vision plans during Family and Medical Leave continues for up to 12 workweeks in a calendar year. (PPSM 43.H.2)
