Basic Supervisory Certificate Series: Building a Foundation
This program is designed for new supervisors, for those who want to review the fundamental principles of successful supervision and for those who wish to transition into a supervisory position. It includes the latest in management theory, particularly respect for others and the importance of capitalizing on our diversity. Communication skill development also runs throughout the program; this skill is fundamental to all interactions. Courses provide opportunities for questions, discussion, problem solving and networking in a supportive environment.
The program consists of eight modules offered quarterly. For Fall 2009, two of the modules will be offered as e-learning; the remaining modules will be instructor-led. All modules should be completed in a single quarter.
