Outreach Services

 

Outreach, within Human Resources is the collaborative participation and partnerships with departments, constituent groups, and community affiliations in activities, which encourage the employment, retention, and development of prospective applicants, internal employees, student populations, and community interest groups.

How to Reach Out

  • Operate on the assumption that you have periodic openings and are always looking for people to fill them.
  • Research on and off campus contacts to promote vacant positions.

  • Seize the opportunity to promote the University as an employer/school of choice at both professional and social functions, such as cultural events, board meetings, conferences, seminars, family functions and other group events.
  • Partner with Employment Services and Human Resources by attending job fairs and other special events. 
  • Maintain a file of contacts for further recruitment activity.
  • Encourage development opportunities for current employees.
  • Recognize and appreciate individual differences.
  • Consider mentorships.
  • Support staff participation in events and activities in the community and on campus/UCDHS.
