Advertisements in Newspapers, Journals, and Other Publications
|
Employment Services developed streamlined guidelines to assist you with advertising your job posting in publications other than the campus Web site. These guidelines include basic information that should appear in the advertisement. Please remember that the department must make direct advertising arrangements. Employment Consultants/Recruiters are available to work with you in composing the ad and must review and approve all ads prior to publication. For newspaper advertisements and/or other publications, the department may contact the newspaper source of choice directly or request assistance from an external source, i.e., Job Elephant (415-564-4154) who works with higher ed institutions only or other ad placement sources, such as Dulin Advertising, Inc. (650-367-1474) to coordinate ad placement. If you contact the source directly such as the Sacramento Bee, please ask if UC Davis has an established account to allow you to receive any discount rates. You will need to provide the advertising source with a department account number for billing purposes. Keep in mind the cost of ad is the department's responsibility. Be sure to ask prices for the various ad types; display vs. line ads as costs vary. You may request their assistance in modifying your advertisement to reduce your cost.
