Internal or External Recruitment

Definition:

  • Internal: These positions are transfer/promotional opportunities for UCD/UCDHS employees only.
  • External: These positions are for UCD/UCDHS employees and the general public. Applications from the general public and UCD/UCDHS employees will be considered simultaneously.

 

Department Responsibilities:

  • Check title code against Internal or External list to determine appropriate designation.
  • Submit your vacancy request using the PeopleAdmin system.

 

Employment Consultant/Recruiter Responsibilities:

  • Verifys internal or external designation and confirms with department. .
  • Designated canned statement appears in the job posting.
  • Reviews layoff and/or voc rehab applications for preference eligibility. Preference will first be given to qualified applicants on UCD/UCDHS layoff list first (see referral procedure for layoff) prior to screening of applicant pool. If no layoff and/or voc rehab referrals or layoff and/or voc rehab clears,department may consider the remainder applicant pool.
  • For an Internal posting and all screening by the department, please contact your Employment Consultant/Recruiter to verify employee internal status.  

 

Department Responsibilities:

  • Proceed with interview and selection process. If selection is made, alert Employment Services/HR and ollow departmental and/or college protocols.
  • Department uses the PeopleAdmin system to provide all disqualification reasons and also to enter in the Hiring Decision once all approvals have been secured for salary, near relative, background check, etc. as applicable.  Note: The hire must be made in PPS prior to beginning the Hiring Decision since the Employee ID is required.

Employment Consultant/Recruiter:

  • Notifies department to enter hire into PPS; reviews hiring decision and disqualification reasons for the requisition in the PeopleAdmin system.
