Disability Management Services provides services mandated by federal and state laws; UC Policies and Procedures to faculty and staff with disabilities. This program provides technical assistance to supervisors and managers on all aspects of disability management, Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, and reasonable accommodations, whether work-related or non-industrial.

FREDNA KARNEGES is a certified rehabilitation counselor in Disability Management Services with over 25 years experience in the field of vocational rehabilitation. She has more than 15 years experience teaching courses on disability issues in the workplace and serves as a technical consultant to managers and supervisors on the Americans with Disabilities Act, California FEHA and UC Policy and Collective Bargaining Agreements related to reasonable accommodation and medical separation.

DAVID RITZ is an experienced, certified rehabilitation counselor with Disability Management Services who joined UC Davis in 2007. Prior to joining UCD, he spent 27 years in private practice as a vocational rehabilitation counselor, creating rehabilitation and career development plans, providing early intervention counseling, and developing reasonable accommodations and job modifications for disabled workers. At UCD, he provides technical consultation to managers and supervisors on the California FEHA, Americans with Disability Act, and UC Policy and Collective Bargaining Agreements related to reasonable accommodation and medical separations.
