Schools

Area public schools fall under the jurisdiction of the Davis Joint Unified School District. There are eight elementary schools located throughout the community serving kindergarten to sixth grade children. Children are usually enrolled in their neighborhood school, unless the family chooses the Spanish Immersion Program located at the Cesar Chavez and Marguerite Montgomery schools. The Fairfield School offers a two-room country school for kindergarten through third grade students. A Montessori program is available at Birch Lane. Children can be registered at neighborhood schools after showing proof of residency; you will also need a physician's report of a physical examination and proof of immunization.

Davis Joint Unified School District does not provide school bus service. In addition to bicycling and carpooling, Unitrans [530]752-2877; unitrans@ucdavis.edu] offers public transportation across the city.
