This foundation firmly grounds us in beliefs that guide our everyday lives. Through meditation we can rediscover how the positive values of this foundation can be cultivated within this basic structure to design and foster health and creativity.

Meditation is one of the most natural and yet most profoundly rewarding of all human activities. It connects you with your own inner powers of vitality, clarity, and love. When done deeply, it also connects you with Spirit and infinite joy. For the 2019 Meditation Series, each month we will explore practical suggestions on how to live a radiantly healthy life. We will learn how to have more energy and vitality, to be receptive, to be relaxed, to recharge the body, calm the mind, open the heart and to have positive, cheerful and wholesome attitudes.  These workshops can be for beginners who are just learning about meditation or for people who already make meditation their daily practice.

Is your infant/toddler/child having trouble sleeping? Is naptime, or bedtime a battle, or are you experiencing night wakings with your child because they don't know how to put themselves back to sleep? Do you see exhausted families in your Clinic describing the above? Let's get everyone sleeping better!!

Every family and every child is different, but there can be common threads contributing to why a child might not be sleeping well and these Children's Sleep Tips will get everyone on the right track towards some much needed rest!

Charleen will be discussing:

  • the benefits that sleep provides
  • how much sleep is actually required (age appropriate)
  • how to catch sleep at the right times
  • the benefits of a schedule and routine when it comes to sleep
  • and much more!

Charleen McDaniel is a Sleep Sense certified Children's Sleep Consultant with Happy Baby Sleep Consulting http://www.sleephappybaby.com/ and has a love for all things sleep. She has two young sons (both under 2 years old) and was once a momma of a child who didn't sleep well and knows first-hand how exhausting that is, both mentally and physically. Now she helps other families get the well deserved rest that they need!

Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work - Each April

The annual “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day” is the day on which employers nationwide host children at their workplaces and is marked at UC Davis Health with a schedule of presentations and activities.


UC Walks - Each May

UC Walks is a systemwide UC Living Well program that is coordinated by the wellness programs at each campus and health system. UC Walks promotes wellness and an active lifestyle by encouraging faculty, staff, retirees and students to take just 30 minutes out of their day to walk.
